Marching Band Picnics

Each year we have a informational picnic/meeting for all parents of our RRHS Marching Band Members (Poms, Flags, and Instrumentalists) and a student picnic for those same members. 

Sunday, August 6, 2023 - 1:00-3:00pm

Parent Location:  City Hall Park

Student Location:  Rocky River Park  (by the lake) 

(rain location:  RRHS Commons - no potluck, informational meeting only from 2-3pm)

A great deal of information will be given out at this meeting.  Your attendance is STRONGLY encouraged and appreciated!  While we are enjoying our potluck picnic and sharing information, the students will be having a get together of their own at Rocky River Park (“upper level”). These gatherings give returning parents and students an opportunity to renew friendships as well as welcome the incoming group. 

Attendance at the parent potluck is highly recommended! We will be sharing valuable information that you will want to have about the upcoming marching season including how to assist with chaperoning, hospitality, band parties, uniforms, etc. (it’s a good idea to bring the family calendar.)  It’s also a great way to connect with other band parents!

With our large band we depend on our parent volunteers to make each year a success. Please know that we greatly appreciate your willingness to take part in this experience with your student(s) and hope you will enjoy being part of the band parent community.

Please Bring:

Senior parents: Cold beverages (in coolers) 12-24 cans/bottles of water

Junior parents: Desserts for 6 people

Sophomore parents: Salad or side dish for 6-8 people

Freshmen parents: Main dish for 6-8 people

All: A lawn chair or blanket and some type of calendar

If you have more than one child in band, bring the item that is assigned to your youngest child.

Go to the lake, let the officers grill for you, and enjoy a day of fun.

Please Bring: 

Seniors: Cold beverages (12-24 cans/bottles of water)

Juniors: Desserts for 6 people

Sophomores: Chips or other snacks for 6 people

Freshman: Mac and Cheese OR Chicken for 6 people

If you have siblings in Band, have the youngest bring their assigned food.
